While at the gardens experiencing Australia’s spectacular plant life, you might as well stop by the zoo. The zoo is open every day and there’s feeding times later in the afternoon. East from Rockhampton is Yeppoon, known for its beaches and tropical climate. Just offshore from Yeppoon is Great Keppel Island. Part of the Great Barrier Reef, this island is surrounded by tropical beaches and vast coral reefs. Head over to see the Keppel islands on the daily departing ferries.
